Craver/Codd Scholarship Fund Guidelines
1. To be eligible an applicant should meet the following criteria:
A. Active participant in the ministries of Monumental UMC
B. High school graduate
C. Full time student or student in a graduate program
D. Plan to attend or be enrolled in an accredited school or college.
2. A personal letter from the applicant describing future educational plans must accompany the application form.
3. A letter of recommendation from the student’s guidance counselor or faculty member with personal classroom knowledge of the applicant’s abilities should accompany the application.
4. The Scholarship Committee will make its decision based on the following:
A. Church participation
B. Need
C. Academic performance
D. Community involvement.
5. Students may apply for additional scholarship aid in subsequent years if financial need exists.
6. Applicant should provide the Scholarship Committee with the name of the school, name of the school comptroller, and the address of each.
7. Scholarship award checks shall be sent no later than August 15.
8. The Scholarship Committee shall consist of three members who shall be appointed for a term of three years, one member to be appointed at the first meeting of the Education Committee each year. No Scholarship Committee member can succeed himself/herself. The Chair of the Education Committee, the immediate past Chair of the Education Committee, and the Scholarship representative on the Endowment Committee shall serve as Ex-Officio members of the Scholarship Committee.
